The Inauguration Ceremony of the Joint Annual Academic Sessions of the Sri Lanka College of Nutrition Physicians (SLCNP) and the Sri Lanka Medical Nutrition Association (SLMNA) 2026 was held on 4 July 2026 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo.

    The ceremony was honoured by the presence of the Chief Guest, Hon. Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, Minister of Health and Mass Media, and the Guest of Honour, Dr. Anil Jasinghe, Secretary to the Ministry of Health and Mass Media.

    A highlight of the evening was the Prof. Narada Warnasooriya Oration 2026, delivered by Prof. Ranil Jayawardena on the timely and thought-provoking theme, “Bridging Gaps in Clinical Nutrition.”

    Honorary Fellowships in Nutrition and Metabolism of the SLCNP were awarded to Dr. Nalinda Herath, Consultant Nutrition Physician, and Dr. Shalika Kurukulaarachchi, Consultant Nutrition Physician. Honorary International Fellowships were also awarded to Dr. Eliza Mei Francisco of the Philippines and Prof. Veeradej Pisprasert of Thailand, in recognition of their valued contributions to the field.

    The evening concluded on a vibrant note with a colourful cultural performance, adding warmth and celebration to this memorable occasion.
