Membership categories
The association consists of following categories of members.

Founder members: Any medical practitioner with MBBS or equal qualification, registered by the Sri Lanka Medical Council and is interested or/and currently contributing to the nutrition services in Sri Lanka who had taken life membership on first inaugural general meeting.
Honorary members: The council may elect honorary members from amongst those who have made a special contribution to the field of Medical Nutrition. They will enjoy all rights and facilities except the right to vote or hold office.
Life Members: Any medical practitioner with a degree in medicine (MBBS) or equal qualifications, registered by the Sri Lanka Medical Council who is interested in the field of Medical Nutrition.
Associate Members: Members of nutrition care team in hospitals will be eligible, including nutrition focus nursing officers and pharmacists. An associate member should be recommended by a life member of SLMNA and will enjoy the rights of membership except the right to vote and hold office. Their membership will be limited to 1 year and applicable to annual extension with the approval of council.

Associate membership

The relevant life member who recommend the applicant shall collect the application form from the council and hand over to SLMNA to be approved by the council.

*All membership fees shall be reviewed and revised whenever decided by the council
