The Joint Clinical Nutrition
Academic Sessions of SLMNA and SLCNP, held under the theme “A Panoramic View
of Clinical Nutrition,” was successfully concluded on the 5th of July 2025
at the prestigious Galle Face Hotel in Colombo. This landmark event brought
together leading experts, professionals, and emerging voices in the field of
clinical nutrition from across Sri Lanka and beyond.
The day commenced with a vibrant session of competitive oral presentations, featuring high-quality research , Audits and case studies by upcoming clinicians , and academics. The judging panel comprised renowned experts in the field, including Prof. Upul Senerath, Dr. Kausala Sithamparapillai, Dr. Mani Naghibi and Dr. Royce Vincent, representing both local and international expertise. The oral presentation session was expertly chaired by two Clinical Nutrition Physicians.
Following the oral presentations, the academic programme
unfolded with five thematic symposia, each addressing a timely and critical
area in clinical nutrition. Together, these sessions offered a panoramic perspective
on the evolving landscape of the field, highlighting both current challenges
and emerging opportunities. Topics ranged from advanced therapeutic nutrition
strategies to emerging trends in medical nutrition therapy. Each symposium was
chaired and resourced by distinguished and internationally recognized
professionals, offering both local insights and global perspectives. The
sessions fostered lively discussions and audience engagement, reflecting the
keen interest and commitment of attendees towards enhancing clinical nutrition
practice in Sri Lanka.
One of the standout moments of the day was the inaugural Quiz Competition, introduced for the first time during the Annual Clinical Nutrition Academic Sessions. Designed as an interactive segment, the quiz drew enthusiastic participation from delegates, making it a novel and enjoyable experience for both participants and spectators.
The academic sessions concluded with a ceremonial awards distribution, where winners of the oral presentations poster presentations and quiz competition were recognized for their excellence. The awardees received certificates and cash prizes, honoring their contribution and encouraging continued academic and professional development.

Overall, the event was marked by a spirit of scholarly

committees of SLMNA and SLCNP extend their sincere gratitude to all speakers,
chairpersons, judges, participants, sponsors, and attendees who contributed to
making the event a resounding success.
