The 7th annual academic session of the Sri Lanka Medical Nutrition Association was held at the Galle Face Hotel Colombo under the timely theme of 'Nutrition in Crisis'. It was a great honour to have Mr Christian Skoog, the UNICEF country representative for Sri Lanka as the chief guest and Dr Royce P Vincent, a Consultant Chemical Pathologist at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in the UK, as the keynote speaker of the inauguration ceremony, held on 25th of November, 2022.
Academic sessions on 26th November 2022 were held as a hybrid event. Prof Rocco Barazzoni, Prof. Somchai Durongdej, Prof Matthias Pirlich, Dr Mark Messina, Prof Joji Kotani, Prof. Hartono, Dr P.C.Vijayakumar, Dr Royce P Vincent, Dr Abner E Daniel, Dr Filippo Dibari and Dr Veeradej Prisprasert participated as the noble speakers in each symposium.
Their invaluable speeches were enormously beneficial in obtaining novel scientific evidenced-based practices and stimulated every participant in both on-site & online platforms to accumulate and combine this knowledge to step forward during the current times of crisis.
