Low Salt Recipes, created by the Sri Lanka Medical Nutrition Association in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Chefs Guild of Sri Lanka has been honored with the Special Award of the Jury at the prestigious Gourmand Awards.
The announcement was made at the Saudi Feast Food Festival
in Riyadh by Edouard Cointreau, founder of the Gourmand Awards, who commended
the book for its remarkable depth and cultural significance.
Established in 1995, the Gourmand Awards remain the world’s
only international competition dedicated to celebrating publications on food
and drink culture. With entries from more than 200 countries, the awards are
free to enter and open to all languages, making them a truly global platform.
Each year, Gourmand hosts a symposium in a city of gastronomic importance,
bringing together leading voices from diplomacy, culinary arts, publishing, and
cultural sectors.
This year’s ceremonies in Riyadh welcomed guests from 96
countries, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s growing role as a vibrant hub for global
food culture.
